ASSISTED STRETCHING

Assisted stretching, a technique where a professional helps extend a person's muscles to improve flexibility and range of motion. Unlike self-stretching, assisted stretching allows for deeper muscle elongation and targeted stretching of specific muscle groups. The professional can control the pressure and angle of the stretch, ensuring a more precise and effective session. This method is particularly beneficial for individuals who have limited mobility or find it challenging to achieve deep stretches on their own.

The benefits of assisted stretching are multifaceted. One significant advantage is the enhancement of flexibility, which can improve overall performance in various physical activities and sports. Increased flexibility helps prevent injuries by ensuring that muscles and joints are adequately prepared for movement. Furthermore, assisted stretching promotes better posture by addressing muscle imbalances and tightness that can lead to poor alignment. This, in turn, can alleviate chronic pain, especially in the lower back and neck, areas commonly affected by muscle tension and poor posture.

Additionally, assisted stretching has notable mental and physical health benefits. It can significantly reduce stress and promote relaxation, similar to the effects of a massage. The process of assisted stretching often involves slow, controlled movements and deep breathing, which activate the body's parasympathetic nervous system, promoting a sense of calm and well-being. For athletes and individuals with rigorous physical routines, it aids in faster recovery by increasing blood flow to the muscles and reducing muscle soreness. Overall, assisted stretching is a valuable practice that supports both physical flexibility and mental relaxation, contributing to a holistic approach to health and wellness.

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE

The lymphatic drainage massage is a gentle technique designed to help your body's lymphatic system function better. The lymphatic system is like your body's waste removal system, helping to remove toxins, excess fluid, and waste from your tissues.

During a lymphatic drainage massage, our therapist Camila uses light, rhythmic strokes to stimulate the flow of lymph fluid through your lymphatic vessels. This can help reduce swelling, improve circulation, and support your immune system.

Overall, lymphatic drainage massage aims to promote detoxification, reduce inflammation, and enhance the body's natural healing processes. It's often used to address issues like swelling, lymphedema, and post-surgical recovery, as well as to support overall wellness.

Camila Sampaio has held a university degree in Aesthetics since 2012 and has over 12 years of experience in the field. Before relocating to London, she operated her own clinic in Rio de Janeiro. She specializes in skincare, facials, and lymphatic drainage, including pre- and post-surgery treatment.
